A Ph.D. in engineering, chemistry, or life sciences disciplines is preferred, with a strong track-record of peer-reviewed publications of your research. Admitted & enrolled doctoral student positions: We have openings for Ph.D. students (direct admit & rotation students) interested in dissertation research involving engineering design, concept development, and collaborative application of microfluidics, BioMEMS, & microanalytical tools to the life and biomedical sciences. Using both rigor and creativity, our research projects involve biological systems (cells and organisms), microfabrication, and quantitative engineering analyses. Our lab occasionally has openings for Masters of Engineering graduate students, and coordinates projects through UC Berkeley programs.
